Mayor Mary Lenette R. Fernandez has put Sitio Tunga of Barangay, Ibao under granular lockdown effective December 29, 2020 after the Municipal Health Office (MHO) reported three (3) positive COVID-19 cases and thirty-four (34) high risk contacts in the said barangay.

Mayor Fernandez issued Executive Order No. 31, placing the entire Sitio in a a Granular Enhanced Community Quarantine (GECQ) starting 6:00 PM of December 28, 2020.

The GECQ declaration mandates the people of the said area to:

  • Refrain from unnecessary travel until the COVID-19 testing and sanitation process has been completed and shall STRICTLY OBSERVE HOME QUARANTINE PROTOCOL for the duration of the GECQ.
  • During the duration of the GECQ only those Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) shall be allowed entrance and exit on the area, provided that health and safety measures are strictly imposed and observed.
  • All forms of transportation, both private and public including the unauthorized movement of all persons along the street/alley/pathway of Sitio Tunga, Barangay Ibao, Lezo, Aklan shall be absolutely restricted for the duration of GECQ; and
  • The foregoing restrictions shall not apply to persons who need immediate medical care and those persons allowed under Section 11 of this Order.

She also ask the help of Mayor Jeserel Templonuevo of Numancia to mobilized the Numancia Municipal Police personnel and barangay tanods of neighboring Brgy. Joyao-joyao because many residents who calls Ibao their barangay actually resides in Brgy. Joyao-joyao.
